Offering complimentary consultations at Profound is really, really important to us because we feel that every patient deserves to at least know if they need something. When you walk through the door, we’ll take an x-ray, we’ll do a scan, and we’ll talk about everything. Orthodontics is not just a one-size-fits-all.
There really is different ways of treating things and getting to know, you know, your wants and desires will help me get to a better treatment plan for you. Seeing kids early nowadays is very important in orthodontics. We like to see kids by the age of seven.
By seven, we will know if your child needs an expander, if they have enough room for their teeth, if they have any blocked out teeth, how they’re growing, all that stuff. So seeing kids by the age of seven and intervening early is very important nowadays. Back in the olden days, you know, orthodontists did not used to see kids as early as we do now.
And a lot of the outcome of that was having to take teeth out because they weren’t doing expanders, they weren’t treating things early. So a lot of people didn’t have room for all their teeth to come in. So they would need, you know, extractions.
And that’s something like we try to avoid nowadays. So we try our best and seeing kids early really helps out with that. If you’re nervous about coming into the office or, you know, if you’re really not sure your child needs anything, I would say just come see us, we’ll do an x-ray, we’ll do a scan, and we’ll evaluate.
If you don’t need anything to be done, even better. But I think if you want to feel more comfortable, you know, just about your oral health in general, I think an evaluation with an orthodontist is very important. So I never want patients to feel like, you know, maybe this isn’t for me, or maybe I don’t even need to go see an orthodontist.
Because it really, you know, we have nothing to lose. We’re able to talk about everything. And if there’s ever, you know, some sort of treatment that my patients need, you know, I’ll always let them know.
But at the end of the day, it’s their decision if they want to do it.
