Braces are tried and true. They’ve been around for decades. There have been lots of technological advances.

Back in the day, they used to use like super stiff wires. Now we use, you know, really thinner wires and it just makes the treatment, you know, a lot more comfortable for patients. So I just want patients to know that nowadays, if you get braces, the experience might be a little bit more comfortable than versus when your parents got braces or even when I got braces, it’s really a great treatment option for most of our patients and it’s going to go great.

I love treating patients with braces, especially cases that have really crowded teeth or a lot of spacing or just cases that a lot of movement is required to get you the best outcome. So with braces, I feel really safe because I put the brackets on, I know the position of them, you know, I know how your teeth are going to move. You know, I always let patients know you have to brush your teeth.

There’s going to be a lot of metal in your mouth. I think the more a teenager or child likes their orthodontist, the better they’re actually going to be with compliance. I found that patients that love coming here, they brush better, they floss better, you know, they’re more excited to see their outcome and they just have better compliance in general.

That compliance really matters for the end result because if you’re not brushing, if you’re not flossing, you’re going to have white spots on your teeth once we get the braces off. So having that child have good compliance makes a world of a difference with the final outcome. If you have really good compliance, your treatment is going to go perfectly.

When kids come here to get their braces, they really have a great experience. I think it mainly is because just the vibe of our office, we’re super welcoming, we answer questions, you know, we really make you feel like part of our family. You’re not just a number in our books.
