I always like to say Invisalign is a great option for working adults because a lot of people are when the work industry don’t want to show something on their teeth. So they always come to me, they’re like we don’t want to feel and look like a kid having braces. So I always offer the Invisalign option because not only are you going to get the same results as traditional braces, you’re going to have it with nothing showing on your teeth.
You can be as young as eight years old to get Invisalign. Invisalign has made a lot of adjustments over time and now they’re offering expanders with Invisalign, phase one treatment with Invisalign, and then adult treatment with Invisalign. I always like to tell the parents that the patient has to be responsible and disciplined to wear the Invisalign and we actually see good results with kids because they follow a lot of instructions and they don’t have a lot of time to take out the Invisalign because you know they’re always busy with school, sports, extracurricular activities.
So they don’t have as much time to take out the Invisalign as adults do. So a lot of parents feel like since they didn’t wear their Invisalign that they’re child won’t wear the Invisalign. But we also we’ve seen great great outcomes as kids wearing Invisalign.
With Invisalign, the way to brush your teeth is whenever you’re done eating or drinking, we always have you take out your trays which is the clear plastic and then we just have you brush your teeth normally. We always recommend two minutes of brushing and then we tell you to put your Invisalign back on. With Invisalign, you actually get excellent oral hygiene because you know food’s not getting stuck in your brackets.
The sugar is not getting stuck around the brackets so you’re not going to get the white stains that normally braces would have because Invisalign offers you to brush your teeth constantly with nothing being on your teeth. The great thing about Invisalign is we’re able to flex your appointments. Meaning with Invisalign, I give you the amount of trays you have and tray is the actual Invisalign.
So every tray is supposed to be worn for a full week to two weeks. So with that I’m able to control how many trays we give you to take home. So a lot of people who live you know in college or they live out of state and they see me, I’ll give them enough Invisalign to last them until they come back for their, you know, to come back from school, come back from trips, things like that.
With braces, after a certain point the braces don’t work because they have to be reactivated. Meaning you have to come in for your six-week appointment. With Invisalign, we’re able stretch your appointments from 10 to 20 weeks which gives a lot of people flexibility.
Not only are we able to span the appointments, each appointment is less than time. So people who are working or busy schedules, they’re able to pop in during their lunch break, pop in during meetings and quickly get their new Invisalign.
